Complete Feature List

PureFusionIPTV Features

Features of the distributed Open Beta, plus provider and device limitations. The clearly marked Beta-30 section describes the next prepared source build; those additions are pending publication and are not yet available to testers.

Open Beta — Google Play Open Testing 2.0.0-Beta-29 — Build 83 Next beta prepared: 2.0.0-Beta-30 — Build 84; not yet available Android TV / Google TV focused

PureFusionIPTV is an IPTV/media player only. It does not provide IPTV service, sell channels, include playlists, provide Xtream or Stalker accounts, host streams, include movies or television programming, or recommend IPTV providers. You supply your own legally accessible source or provider. A Premium purchase unlocks features in this player — it is never access to content.

Prepared for Beta-30 / Build 84 — not yet available

These additions are implemented in the next beta's source and await final validation and publication. The distributed baseline remains Beta-29 / Build 83.

Guide and Local Network Sync

Live TV opens Guide at the playing channel's actual category and row. Favorites browsing, duplicate-channel identity and newer navigation requests retain their own state.

After Local Network Sync copies paired-TV configuration, imported playlists automatically prepare their initial EPG, independently of preferences for later refreshes. Catalogs and EPG are fetched locally from your sources; their databases are not copied between TVs.

Movies and episode quality

4K/UHD badges use complete provider video dimensions: 3840–4096 by 2160. A title, bitrate or poster alone is insufficient. One UHD episode does not label an entire series.

Optional focused-card trailer previews are off by default. Only already-known direct HTTP(S) media is eligible; YouTube trailers keep their manual/external flow. Cached metadata, focus and lifecycle guards limit resource use and respect playback/Multi-View.

Secure backup and recovery

Safer secure-store startup and retry, credential migration, SMB saves, account-validated rollback, and backup scheduling/status ownership. Secure storage fails closed without plaintext fallback. Keep the original encryption password separately from the backup.

Native Google Drive is an unconfigured, unavailable Preview. General-use cloud backup/recovery and first-run Drive recovery remain unavailable. Use Local/SMB portable recovery.

Settings and account administration

Global User-Agent presets/custom settings apply to subsequent IPTV requests; explicit request overrides and MAG/Stalker protocol headers retain precedence. Manage Playlists cards use more of each row.

Recent Web Admin changes clarify activity and unverified Pending accounts. Abandoned-signup cleanup uses protected age/Auth checks. Website/backend delivery is separate from the Android build.

Prepared release notes and availability status

Supported Sources

PureFusionIPTV connects to the source formats IPTV player apps normally use. Provider behaviour varies with what each server actually exposes, so some source-specific features depend on your provider rather than on the app.

Playlists and providers

  • M3U and M3U8 playlist URLs
  • Local M3U and M3U8 playlist files from device storage
  • Xtream Codes API
  • MAG / STB Portal, with improved compatibility including IPTVEditor
  • Stalker API, separate from MAG / STB Portal
  • Multiple playlists and providers side by side
  • Playlist import from an SMB / CIFS / NAS share, with network share browsing
  • Large playlists and channel libraries

Data, metadata and refresh

  • XMLTV EPG sources, including more than one at a time
  • Provider channel logos and playlist metadata
  • Stream type detection for Live, Movies and Series entries
  • Automatic playlist refresh and synchronization on a schedule
  • Custom playlist User-Agent, for providers that require one
  • UDP proxy configuration, for setups that route multicast through a proxy

MAG / STB Portal compatibility is improved, including IPTVEditor, but providers frequently customize portals, so support is not guaranteed on every server. Stalker API is a separate source type. See Limitations.

Live TV

Live TV is the primary focus of the app, and the part built most deliberately around a television remote.

Channel browsing

Browse by category or group, with Favorites, Recent Channels and a Last Channel jump. Individual channels can be hidden, and groups can be shown or hidden, so a bloated provider list can be cut down to what you actually watch.

FastZap and channel surfing

FastZap pre-buffers through a pooled player so channel changes do not wait for a cold start. Channel Up/Down can either Instant zap — change channel immediately — or Preview first, which shows the next or previous channel without interrupting what is playing until you press OK.

Channel Bar

An overlay strip for switching channels without leaving playback, showing channel logos, the current program, what is on next, and program progress. Recent channels can be removed individually or cleared, and the list length and how long a channel must play before it counts as recent are both configurable.

Duplicate quality variants

Providers that list the same channel as SD, HD, FHD and 4K entries can be collapsed into a single channel, with the best available variant selected for you. It can be turned off if you would rather see every provider entry separately.

Startup behaviour

Choose what happens on launch: auto-play the last channel, return to the last used section, or open straight into Live TV, Movies, Shows, My List or Search.

Back to fullscreen

After browsing, the app can return to fullscreen Live TV once you have been idle, with a configurable timeout. There is also an exit confirmation so a stray Back press does not close the app.

External player

A stream can be handed off to an external player app when you would rather use one for a particular source.

Picture-in-Picture and MultiView

System PiP and MultiView are both available where the device and your provider can support them — see MultiView & PiP.

Back to categories

Actions Bar & Fullscreen Clock

The fullscreen Actions Bar is built around D-pad navigation rather than a mouse-driven menu, so focus stays where a remote user expects it.

Eight direct buttons

The bar leads with the eight things reached most often:

  • Guide — open the TV Guide
  • Channels — open the Channel Bar
  • Favorite — favourite the current channel
  • Last Channel — jump back to the previous channel
  • Clock — toggle the fullscreen clock
  • Tracks — audio, subtitles and caption services
  • Settings — one press away
  • More — everything below

The Tracks and More popups share the bar's inactivity session, so navigating inside a popup keeps the bar open instead of letting it expire underneath you, and closing the bar closes them with it. Back returns you to the button you opened it from.

Under More

  • MultiView
  • Video quality
  • Aspect ratio
  • Fix playback sync
  • Channel options
  • Record, and Recordings
  • My list
  • History
  • Search
  • Voice commands
  • Stats for nerds — new in Beta 19

Optional fullscreen clock

A clock can be shown during fullscreen playback and toggled straight from the Actions Bar. It follows your device's configured time, its 12-hour or 24-hour setting, and its time zone, and updates immediately when any of those change. It hides itself while the Guide, menus, popups or dialogs are open, and returns when plain fullscreen playback resumes.

This is separate from the date and time shown in the Channel Bar's channel information — the fullscreen clock is its own overlay, with its own on/off setting.

Back to categories

TV Guide / EPG

Both a quick preview Guide and a full-screen grid Guide, driven by your own XMLTV or provider EPG data.

Grid and preview Guide

A full-screen EPG grid plus a preview / Half Guide for checking what is on without leaving playback. Current programs are highlighted, progress is shown, and a current-time indicator marks where you are in the timeline.

Program details

Program titles, descriptions and durations where the source supplies them, with catch-up and archive indicators on programs your provider can actually serve. Full Program Info in Channel Actions (hold OK) opens Program Details on every remote — INFO is an optional shortcut. It shows artwork, progress for what is on now, and actions: Watch Live, recording, and — when the programme is also in your Movies or Shows library — Start From Beginning or open its details.

Focus Details sized by its content Build 76

The floating details panel sizes itself to what it is showing: compact for a short description, larger for a long one, up to the safe limits of your screen. A complete provider description is shown whenever it physically fits, and resizing the panel never shifts the Guide rows underneath it.

Scrolling to the end of a category Build 76

Scrolling down a large category reaches its true last channel the first time. Previously a long category could stop short, with the remainder appearing only after switching away to another category and back.

Browsing forward

Move the Guide into later time windows and the EPG data those windows need is loaded as you go, rather than leaving them blank.

Scoping the Guide

Switch the Guide between playlists, browse by category or group, or view a Favorites Guide. Playlist sections can auto-expand, and channel numbers can be shown or hidden.

EPG sources

XMLTV sources, more than one at a time, with scheduled updates, a first-run bootstrap so the Guide fills in on day one, and visible source status and progress while it works. Refreshing one playlist updates only that playlist’s linked guide. Update EPG and the scheduled sync still cover every eligible source.

Channel matching

Provider EPG matching links playlist channels to guide data, with identity recovery for channels whose provider IDs change between playlist refreshes.

Program reminders

Schedule a reminder on any Guide program, with a configurable lead time, an optional countdown, and optional automatic switching when the program starts. Reminders survive an app restart and travel in backups and Local Network Sync.

Guide appearance

Row density, background style, and text colour presets are all adjustable — see Customization.

Guide window by tier: Free accounts get up to a 3-day EPG window. Premium and Lifetime get up to 14 days. How much guide data actually exists still depends on your EPG source.

Back to categories

Movies & Series

For providers that supply video on demand, Movies and TV Shows each get their own browsing and playback flow. Movies and Series access is a Premium feature, and what exists to browse is entirely up to your provider.

A Home for Movies and Shows in Build 79. Both open on Continue Watching, My List, Recently Added and Recently Watched — plus New Episodes & Seasons and Continuing Series for Shows — followed by your provider's categories, which still page in as you scroll. Details open instantly and fill in as provider information arrives, and choosing a series always opens its details rather than starting an episode.

Movies

  • Movie categories with poster and artwork browsing
  • Opens on a Home of Continue Watching, My List, Recently Added and Recently Watched, then your provider's categories
  • Resume-progress indicators on posters
  • Detail screens that open instantly, with plot, year and genre where the provider supplies them
  • Cast and actor cards, with TMDb-assisted actor information and headshots
  • Optional Wi-Fi-only downloading of cast imagery
  • Trailers where available
  • Resume, Start Over, and playback-progress tracking
  • Continue Watching, My List, and Recently Watched
  • Embedded subtitles, plus optional OpenSubtitles lookup
  • On-demand controls: rewind 10s, forward 30s, subtitles, audio, info and 0.5×–2× speed
  • External player hand-off
  • Catalog refresh on demand, or automatically on an interval

Series and episodes

  • Series categories and detail pages; choosing a series always opens its details
  • Opens on a Home that adds New Episodes & Seasons and Continuing Series, then your provider's categories
  • Resume-progress indicators on posters
  • Season browsing with full episode lists
  • Season 0 / Specials handling
  • Episode metadata, artwork and trailers where available
  • Per-episode progress, Resume and Start Over, with Resume, Up Next, Watched and New badges
  • Next and previous episode, and an episode list, from the playback controls
  • Continue Watching, My List, and Recently Watched
  • Optional automatic next-episode playback
  • Provider subtitles, plus optional OpenSubtitles lookup
  • External player hand-off

Movie and series availability, artwork, plots, cast lists and trailers all come from your provider's catalog. PureFusionIPTV displays and enriches what the provider returns; it does not supply the catalog.

Back to categories

Radio & Music

Audio-only streams in your playlist get their own browsing experience rather than being mixed in with television channels.

Radio browsing

  • A dedicated Music / Radio section with its own presentation
  • Category browsing and station artwork
  • Favorites for radio stations
  • A focus detail panel for the highlighted station
  • The same player and automatic recovery behaviour as the rest of the app

Online subtitle lookup is deliberately never triggered for radio.

Back to categories

Audio & Captions

The Tracks button exposes the tracks a stream actually carries, rather than a guess at what it should carry.

The Tracks popup

Entries are grouped under headings so a long list stays scannable:

  • Audio — every alternate audio track
  • Subtitles / CC — subtitle tracks and caption services
  • Subtitle tools — sync, appearance and lookup
Audio tracks
  • Select any alternate audio track the player and your device can handle
  • Entries labelled by language, role and channel layout, with a codec tiebreak
  • Tracks carrying no language metadata are still listed rather than hidden
  • A track your device genuinely cannot decode is shown with the reason instead of silently disappearing
  • Track selection directly from fullscreen playback
Subtitles and closed captions
  • A global subtitles on/off control
  • Per-channel subtitle preferences, restored when you return to that channel
  • A preferred subtitle language
  • Embedded provider subtitles
  • CEA-608 captions with CC1, CC2, CC3 and CC4 selectable separately
  • CEA-708 caption services, listed individually
  • Two services sharing one language stay separately selectable
  • Subtitle sync / offset adjustment when captions drift
  • Media3 external subtitle attachment
Caption appearance
  • Text size and text colour
  • Background colour and opacity
  • Window colour and opacity
  • Edge style and edge colour
  • Typeface
OpenSubtitles account sign-in
  • Optional OpenSubtitles.com account sign-in for subtitle downloads
  • PureFusion supplies its application API key automatically
  • An optional custom API key can override that key. A custom key is stored in Keystore-backed encrypted preferences on the device
  • A preferred language, with manual or automatic loading
  • Search, download, and local subtitle caching
  • Timing adjustment on a downloaded subtitle

OpenSubtitles lookup is for Movies and Series only. It is deliberately never used for Live TV, FastZap or radio — changing channel does not fire an online subtitle search.

Playback

Playback runs on AndroidX Media3 (ExoPlayer), with considerably more control and more recovery behaviour than a basic IPTV player.

Decoding and buffering
  • Hardware or software video decoding
  • Hardware or software audio decoding
  • Buffer size presets from None through Very large
  • Configurable forward and backward skip intervals
  • External player hand-off
  • Optional automatic next-episode playback for series
Auto Frame Rate and display output
  • Auto frame rate (AFR), switching the TV refresh rate to match the video
  • AFR applied separately for Live TV and for video on demand
  • Refresh-rate switching
  • Optional resolution switching
  • An option to switch only for 50 and 60 FPS content
  • A configurable delay before frame-rate changes are applied
  • A Refresh Display Output tool that reinitializes the output when a mode change leaves the picture wrong
Audio output
  • Audio passthrough
  • Surround handling, including a surround-by-default preference
  • Tunneled playback where the device supports it
Picture-in-Picture
  • System PiP, which can be enabled or disabled
  • Optional automatic PiP when you leave playback
  • PiP support is checked before the mode is entered, so it is not forced onto hardware that reports none
  • A PiP state reset in Settings
Automatic recovery

PureFusionIPTV tries to recover from common IPTV failures instead of dropping you out of playback. Recovery covers situations such as:

  • Frozen video
  • Silent or stalled audio
  • Full playback stalls
  • A live stream that ends unexpectedly
  • Provider connection failures and loading traps
  • Stale pre-buffered stream failure
  • Player replacement and reinitialization
  • Display-output problems

Recovery can be switched off in Settings when you are troubleshooting a provider and want to see the raw failure.

Live TV reliability in Beta 19

Many live IPTV streams are progressive MPEG-TS feeds whose provider reports a content length, which makes the stream look like a finite file that is playing past its own end. Media3's finite-media “playing past end” detector treated that as a stuck player and raised a playback error roughly a minute in, on streams that were playing perfectly.

Live playback is now excluded from that specific detector, while Movies, Series, recordings and catch-up — which really are finite — keep it. Every other stuck-playback safeguard is unchanged on every stream.

This addresses one specific false-positive. It does not claim that every provider-side stream ending is eliminated — a provider that genuinely drops a stream still ends it, and normal recovery handles that.

Live TV reliability in Beta 21

Background work no longer competes with the picture. An automatic Guide update that had already started could keep writing to the database throughout a buffering episode; it now stops at a safe point as soon as playback is starved and continues the same update from where it left off once playback is steady. Nothing is re-downloaded and no progress is lost. The same cooperation applies to the database upkeep that runs shortly after launch, which already stepped aside for on-screen activity and now steps aside for a buffering channel too.

Adaptive buffering recovery also takes effect properly. When a channel rebuffers repeatedly early in a session, PureFusionIPTV decides to move that channel to a larger, steadier buffer — but that decision used to be discarded if the picture happened to be running at the instant the switch was due, leaving the channel on the setting it had already been judged unsuitable for. The decision now survives and is genuinely applied.

Buffering always wins: there is no time limit after which a background update resumes regardless of what playback is doing.

Automatic commercial volume reduction

Loud commercial breaks can be levelled automatically. Detection is loudness-based and works during playback rather than relying on commercial markers the provider may never send.

  • Automatic volume levelling on or off
  • Adjustable detection sensitivity
  • Adjustable amount of volume reduction
  • Can be disabled completely if you prefer untouched stream audio

Back to categories

Catch-up / Archive

Catch-up plays a program that has already aired, where your provider keeps an archive and describes it in a way the app can verify.

What is supported

  • Catch-up and archive program playback
  • M3U catch-up metadata, including catch-up day counts
  • Provider-supplied catch-up source templates, in the common placeholder forms
  • Xtream Codes timeshift URLs
  • TV Guide integration, with archive markers and a Watch from start action
  • Archive-window and eligibility handling, so only a program the archive can actually serve is offered
  • Provider time-zone handling, so the requested program is the one you picked
  • Archive playback keeps its position instead of jumping to the live edge

What is not

  • Catch-up is entirely provider dependent. No provider archive means there is nothing to play, and PureFusionIPTV cannot create archived programming.
  • Archive depth is whatever your provider claims — the app does not extend it.
  • A playlist that describes catch-up in a way the app cannot verify is declined up front rather than failing part-way through playback.
  • MAG / STB Portal and Stalker API catch-up and archive playback is not supported. Those sources work for live playback where the provider allows it; their archive is not implemented, and the app does not claim otherwise.

Back to categories

Recording / DVR

PureFusionIPTV has its own recording system, with local or network storage. Recording is a Premium feature.

Recording and scheduling

  • Recording can be enabled or disabled outright
  • Record Live TV from the player
  • Schedule recordings from Guide program information
  • A Recording Management screen showing scheduled, completed and failed recordings
  • Cancel a scheduled recording, or delete a completed one
  • Configurable start padding and end padding, so an over-running program is not cut off

Storage

  • Local device storage, with a configurable path
  • SMB / NAS network destinations, with server, share, path, username and password
  • A built-in SMB network browser for finding the share
  • Optional AES-256 encryption of recordings
  • A configurable storage quota in GB
  • Clear completed recordings and their files

Provider connection limits still apply. If your provider allows one connection, recording one stream while watching another is not something the app can create extra connections for.

Back to categories

MultiView & Picture-in-Picture

Watch more than one stream at once, where your hardware and provider allow it. MultiView is a Premium feature.

Layouts

  • Single, Picture-in-Picture, split and 2×2 grid layouts
  • Multiple simultaneous streams
  • A shared player pool, so streams reuse player resources instead of each allocating its own
  • System PiP, with optional automatic entry when you leave playback

What decides how many streams work

  • Your Android device's decoding capability
  • Available RAM and CPU
  • Network bandwidth
  • The codecs the streams use
  • Your IPTV provider's simultaneous connection limit

A provider that permits one connection cannot serve four MultiView tiles, and no player can change that.

Back to categories

Search & Voice

Search does more than match a channel name exactly.

Search

  • Typed search with fuzzy matching that survives ordinary typos
  • Live TV, Movie and Series search
  • Results split into separate Channels, Movies and TV Shows rows
  • Title, year and genre aware matching
  • Search history and recent searches
  • Changing which playlist a search covers re-filters the results already on screen instead of re-running the search, so the query and results are not lost
  • A configurable option to stay on the search screen after tuning a result

Advanced metadata-aware search is a Premium feature.

Voice

  • Voice search for Live TV, Movies and Series
  • A full-size circular microphone control to the left of the search field, sized and placed for a D-pad rather than tucked inside the text field
  • Predictable D-pad movement between the microphone, your query and the clear control
  • Cancelling voice input keeps whatever you had already typed
  • Voice navigation commands such as “live tv”, “movies”, “tv guide” and “open settings”
  • Voice results run through the same search system, not a reduced separate index

Voice uses Android's own recognition, so it needs a microphone-capable remote or device.

Back to categories

Appearance & Customization

The interface is not locked to one look.

Theme

  • Interface presets: PureFusion Modern, TiViMate Style, Glass / Transparent, Classic Dark, AMOLED / Black and High Contrast
  • Ten accent colours
  • Transparent menus, with adjustable menu opacity

Guide styling

  • Fourteen Guide background styles
  • Eight Guide text-colour presets
  • Three Guide row densities — Comfortable, Default and Compact
  • Auto-expanding playlist sections
  • Show or hide channel numbers

Overlays and timing

  • Show or hide the fullscreen clock
  • Video quality label shown as a category (SD, HD, FHD, 4K) or as the actual resolution
  • Quick Actions timeout and Quick Settings timeout
  • Recent channel list size
  • How long a channel must play before it enters Recent Channels
  • Return-to-fullscreen idle timeout

Back to categories

Remote Controls & Navigation

PureFusionIPTV is a TV-first app. It is not a phone interface stretched onto a television — focus order, Back behaviour and overlay lifecycles are designed around a D-pad.

Remote navigation

  • Full D-pad and remote navigation across every screen
  • Predictable focus in lists, the Guide grid, the Channel Bar and the Actions Bar
  • Channel Up/Down for surfing, with Instant zap or Preview first behaviour
  • OK to select or tune, Back to step out of an overlay
  • Play/Pause and seek controls on supported content
  • Exit confirmation so a stray Back press does not close the app
  • Touch input supported on phones and tablets

Per-key remote remapping — assigning your own actions to individual D-pad, media or coloured buttons — is not a current feature. Those controls exist in the codebase but have no runtime behind them yet, so they are hidden rather than shown as working options. Direct numeric channel entry is likewise not currently implemented.

Back to categories

Profiles & Parental Controls

Multiple household profiles, with a Kids Mode and a PIN. This section is deliberately specific about which parental controls are enforced today.

Profiles

  • Multiple local household profiles
  • Profile creation, editing, deletion and switching
  • Per-profile viewing state, including favourites and history
  • Kids Mode per profile, with group-level content filtering by rating
  • An exit PIN, so leaving a Kids Mode profile requires the PIN
  • Profiles travel in backups and Local Network Sync

Parental controls

Enforced today:

  • A master parental-controls switch
  • A 4-digit parental PIN, which can be set and reset
  • Protect Settings with the PIN
  • Per-channel blocking, with a PIN prompt to watch a blocked channel and a temporary unlock window
  • Kids Mode group filtering and the Kids Mode exit PIN, above

Not enforced yet. An adult-channel filter, Movies and Series PIN gates, blocked-category lists, age-rating and unrated-content restrictions, viewing-time windows, and PIN gates on playlist or EPG management are all not currently active. Those controls are hidden in Settings rather than shown as working, so nobody relies on a restriction the app is not applying. Parental controls are a Premium feature.

Back to categories

Backup, Restore & Local Network Sync

A portable backup format for moving your setup, and a device-to-device sync for keeping several televisions consistent.

What a backup can preserve
  • Playlists and channels
  • Provider credentials, inside an encrypted envelope, when you choose to include them
  • Favorites
  • EPG source definitions, and optionally the guide program data itself
  • Watch history
  • Guide customization — channel, category and section overrides, custom categories and their memberships
  • Movies and Series My List, and playback progress
  • Profiles
  • Program reminders
  • Per-channel subtitle preferences
  • App settings and search history
  • Live navigation and last-channel state
  • Theme preferences
  • Commercial volume settings

Guide program data is large and is omitted by default. Recorded video files are never copied into a portable backup — your recordings stay at their local or SMB destination.

Backup and restore behaviour
  • Full backup, or a selective backup of the sections you pick
  • Selective restore
  • Merge restore, or replace restore
  • Encrypted backups, with credentials handled separately from ordinary settings
  • Local backup files
  • Google Drive backup Preview is unavailable in this beta
  • SMB / NAS backup and restore
  • Backup validation before a restore is trusted
  • Rollback protection if a restore fails part-way
Local Network Sync

Two PureFusionIPTV devices on the same network can synchronize user and configuration state, so a second television does not have to be rebuilt by hand. Synchronized domains include:

  • Playlists, including credentials
  • App settings
  • Favorites, hidden channels and custom channel names
  • Guide category visibility and order
  • Profiles
  • Movies and Series progress, and My List
  • Program reminders
  • Per-channel subtitle preferences
  • Watch history

Sync moves portable user state, not a byte-for-byte clone of an installation. Raw channel catalogs, EPG databases and snapshots, recorded video, recording scheduler state, device identity, pairing and session information, and device-specific secrets all stay local to each device. Cross-device sync is a Premium feature.

Google Drive backup Preview: unavailable in this beta

Native Google Drive backup is a Preview implementation that is not configured for general use. Connection, cloud backup and first-run Drive recovery are unavailable in this beta. Local and SMB / NAS backup and restore remain available.

For recovery after reinstall, keep a surviving portable backup outside the app and retain its original encryption password separately. Your app or Google account cannot recover that password. Local Network Sync copies configuration between paired TVs; Google Drive, Dropbox and OneDrive playlist synchronization is not available.

Back to categories

PC Web Admin

Start a small web interface from the app and manage it from a normal browser on another device on the same network, instead of typing everything with a TV remote.

What you can do

  • View device and app information
  • Add, edit, delete and refresh playlists
  • Manage M3U playlists and Xtream Codes accounts
  • Create a backup, and restore one — including merge or replace
  • Upload a backup file from the browser
  • View account and subscription information
  • Change a catalog of remote settings
  • Configure SMB details

How it is protected

  • Local-network operation, bound to a private address
  • PIN-gated access
  • Opaque session tokens held only in memory
  • The PIN and all sessions are rotated every time the server starts, so a previous run's PIN cannot be reused
  • Stored secrets are never returned to the browser — only a “configured” indicator
  • An idle watchdog shuts the server down automatically after a few minutes of inactivity

Web Admin is not Internet-facing remote administration. It is deliberately a local-network tool that you start when you need it and that closes itself when you are done.

Stats for Nerds, Support & Diagnostics

Troubleshooting is a first-class part of the app, because most IPTV problems are provider-specific or device-specific and cannot be reproduced anywhere else.

Stats for Nerds New in Beta 19

Open it from Live TV Actions Bar › More › Stats for nerds. It draws in the upper-left corner over video, refreshes about once a second, and hides itself behind the Guide, menus and dialogs. It is a read-only display: it records nothing and does not alter playback.

Fields are shown when the information is actually available, and omitted when it is not.

Beta 21 added a playback-diagnosis block: engine state, buffer depth and positions, rebuffer count and duration, link estimate, how long it has been since data last arrived, bitrate, load errors, the stream host (sanitized), the active buffer profile, recovery state, and what background Guide work is doing right now. It is scoped to the player actually on screen, so a background pre-buffer’s rebuffers never appear in it.

Playback information it can show
  • Playback engine and mode
  • Content classification — LIVE, CATCH-UP, VOD or RECORDING
  • Player state, and the playback generation
  • Video resolution and frame rate
  • Video codec and MIME type
  • The active video decoder
  • Audio codec, channel layout and sample rate
  • The active audio decoder
  • Declared bitrate, when the stream provides one
  • Buffer duration
  • Live-edge offset, but only when the stream really has a live edge worth trusting
  • Rendered and dropped frame counters
  • App and native memory use, and memory pressure
  • The last playback-recovery step
Display and output information it can show
  • The current output resolution and refresh rate
  • A summary of what the display reports it can do — maximum resolution and maximum refresh rate, reported separately
  • HDR capability
  • HDR output state, where Android exposes it
  • Wide colour gamut information
  • HDCP level, where Android exposes it
  • An HDMI connection indication, where it can be established reliably

Display and output rows are shown when Android and the device expose them, and are not guaranteed on every device. Older Android versions expose less, and some devices expose nothing at all — in which case the row is simply absent.

On HDMI accuracy. PureFusionIPTV does not guess HDMI 2.0 versus HDMI 2.1. Android exposes no trustworthy public API for the HDMI protocol version or the negotiated TMDS/FRL link on an ordinary device. Therefore the HDMI version row is omitted when it is not available, TMDS and FRL link state are never inferred, and a display capable of 4K120 is not treated as proof of HDMI 2.1. This is deliberate: accurate missing data is more useful in a support conversation than a confident wrong number. The same rule applies to HDCP, HDR and output mode — reported when the platform reports it, absent when it does not.

Nothing that identifies your television is read. The display descriptor is consulted only for how the panel is attached; manufacturer, model, product name, year and serial are never read, stored or shown.

Support & Diagnostics, and crash reporting

From the TV, open Settings › Features & Tools › Support & Diagnostics.

  • Copy Diagnostics, and a screenshot-friendly on-device summary
  • Report a Problem, with your own description added
  • A PF report ID to quote when you ask for help
  • Release-safe redaction of provider passwords, authorization tokens, API keys, full playlist and stream addresses, MAC addresses and SMB credentials
  • A consent flow — automatic crash collection is off by default, and nothing is uploaded unless you choose to send it
  • Retained crash-session diagnostics that survive the crash itself
  • Evidence for deaths Android does not hand to the app, including native crashes and app-not-responding events
  • Decoder lifecycle information, format changes and surface transitions
  • Playback recovery evidence

Beta 19 significantly expands what a future crash report contains — particularly what was playing and what was decoding at the moment of a native death. This is richer diagnostics, not a fix. The intermittent native playback problem reported on the onn 4K Pro is still under investigation and is not claimed fixed.

Accounts & Premium

Accounts and devices

  • Create an account, sign in, and recover a password
  • Subscription and entitlement status visible in Settings and the Account Center
  • Device management, including freeing a device slot
  • Sign out
  • Account deletion
  • Entitlement recognised across your devices
  • A phone companion experience for account, subscription, device management and TV pairing

In-app account creation requires the Google Play build. On other installs, create the account on this website and sign in normally. Purchases are handled by Google Play — PureFusionIPTV does not sell IPTV service.

Features That Depend on Your Hardware or Provider

PureFusionIPTV can only use what your Android device and your provider actually expose. None of the following should be assumed to work on every installation.

Device-dependent

  • MultiView, and how many streams run at once
  • Picture-in-Picture
  • Auto Frame Rate, and refresh-rate switching
  • Resolution switching
  • Audio passthrough and surround formats
  • Tunneled playback
  • Hardware codec support
  • 4K playback
  • HDR, output-mode and HDCP reporting
  • Voice input, which needs a microphone-capable remote

Provider-dependent

  • Catch-up and archive availability, and archive depth
  • Alternate audio tracks
  • Closed captions and subtitle services
  • EPG data, and how well it matches your channels
  • Movies and Series catalogs, artwork and metadata
  • Recording while simultaneously watching another stream
  • MAG / STB Portal and Stalker API behaviour
  • Channel logos

What PureFusionIPTV Does Not Do

This is as important as the feature list.

PureFusionIPTV does not provide IPTV service. It does not include TV channels, IPTV subscriptions, M3U playlists, Xtream accounts, Stalker accounts, movies, TV shows, sports packages, pay-per-view, or provider usernames and passwords. The developer does not recommend IPTV providers.

It cannot add what your provider does not send

  • No provider catch-up or archive means there is no catch-up to play
  • No captions in the stream means there are no embedded captions to select
  • No alternate audio tracks means there are none to list
  • No EPG data means the app cannot invent a schedule
  • One provider connection cannot become four for MultiView or for recording while watching

Source and feature qualifications

  • MAG / STB Portal compatibility varies, including IPTVEditor. Portal support is implemented and recent beta work improves IPTVEditor live and movie playback, but providers frequently customize their portals, and not every portal is supported. Stalker API is a separate source type.
  • MAG / STB Portal and Stalker API catch-up and archive playback is not supported.
  • OpenSubtitles lookup is Movies and Series only — never Live TV or radio.
  • Per-key remote remapping and direct numeric channel entry are not current features.
  • Several parental controls are not yet enforced — see Profiles & Parental Controls for exactly which.
  • Font-size adjustment, and launching automatically on device boot or wake, are not current features.

Scope of the management tools

  • Web Admin is a local-network tool, not permanent Internet-facing remote administration.
  • Local Network Sync does not copy everything — channel catalogs, EPG databases, recorded video, scheduler state, device identity and device-specific secrets stay local.
  • Portable backups do not contain recorded video files.
  • Google Drive backup Preview is unavailable in this beta. Use a surviving Local or SMB portable backup and its original password for recovery.
  • The phone companion is not the full TV player on a small screen. It covers account, subscription, device management and pairing; the player remains TV-first.

It is an Open Beta, not a finished 2.0 release

  • Bugs can still exist
  • Provider-specific compatibility issues can still appear
  • Device-specific Android TV behaviour varies
  • Features are still being refined, and beta builds can arrive frequently
  • An intermittent native playback problem reported on the onn 4K Pro is under investigation. Diagnostics and recovery around it have been improved, but nothing is claimed fixed until it is proven fixed.

The full public release is planned for January 6, 2027.

Future work

Everything in this section is not a current feature. It is listed so the plugin architecture in the app is not mistaken for shipped functionality. None of it is a promise, and no dates are attached.

Planned

  • Emby integration
  • Additional plugin integrations
  • Google Drive as a media / playlist plugin
  • Dropbox and OneDrive playlist synchronization — currently shown as coming soon in the setup flow
  • Further cloud-source integrations

Ongoing

  • Continued Guide and EPG metadata work
  • Continued provider compatibility work
  • Continued performance and reliability improvements
  • Open-Beta fixes driven by real-device reports

Features are added when they are ready, not when a placeholder exists.

Current Open Beta: PureFusionIPTV 2.0.0-Beta-29 — Build 83

Open Beta through Google Play Open Testing. Google rolls each build out gradually, so build 83 may reach testers at different times. Android TV and Google TV focused, with Android phone and tablet support and a phone companion experience. Full public release planned for January 6, 2027.

If something does not work correctly, please include your device, Android version, provider or source type, and — where possible — a PF diagnostic report ID from Settings › Features & Tools › Support & Diagnostics. Finding the unusual device and provider combinations is the whole point of the Open Beta.
